Moses Malone passed away overnight at the age of 60. Malone, a Hall of Famer, 3-time MVP, and 12-time NBA All-Star, averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds over a 21-year ABA and NBA career. Malone played 6 seasons with the Houston Rockets and 5 seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers.
In 1982-1983, his first season in Philly, Malone averaged 24.5 points and 15.3 rebounds and helped lead the Sixers to what would be their only title since the 60’s. Malone entered the ABA straight out of high school and was named one of the NBA’s 50 greatest players in 1996.
Calvin Murphy says Moses Malone died this morning in his sleep in Norfolk,VA where the two Hall of Famers were to play in a golf tournament.
