High School Football Rips Helmet Off Opponent, Slams it into His Head

It hasn’t been a good start to the high school football season, given the ugly incidents that are popping up nationwide. And this one that happened in New Jersey last weekend is the latest:

A player from Linden High School (#1 in the black jersey in the video) rips the helmet off of #73 at the line of scrimmage. As #73 from Immaculata is down on the ground, the Linden player bashes him in the head with the helmet in a bowling motion. The Immaculata player puts his hands up, and the referee throws a flag. The helmet swinger was somehow not ejected.

It’s unclear if criminal charges will be filed against the Linden player. The Immaculata player was taken to the hospital where he received 10 stitches to close the gash. [video via My Central Jersey]
