The Texas Rangers have a 1.5 game lead over the Houston Astros in the AL West. On Wednesday night the Rangers homered five times in a 14-3 win. On Tuesday, they took over first with a walk-off sacrifice fly. In the ensuing celebration, Rangers manager Jeff Banister celebrated with anyone in his path, including – briefly – a surprised bat boy. Banister quickly realized he was treating the hired help like a real big leaguer and brushed him aside to celebrate with real ballplayers. Sorry kid. You’ve got to earn those high fives.
