Cowboys Acquire Quarterback Matt Cassel from Bills

As you know by now: Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Tony Romo is out at least eight weeks after being placed on the “injured reserve – designation to return” list with a fractured collarbone, and backup Brandon Weeden is slated to start vs. the Atlanta Falcons this upcoming Sunday.

Since Jerry Jones said “You won’t see a more gifted passer than Brandon Weeden” this morning, I’m assuming the Dallas Cowboys traded for Quarterback Matt Cassel from the Buffalo Bills today to simply add depth to the position…?

The trade, per Albert Breer of NFL Network, will have the Bills sending Cassel and a 2017 seventh-round pick to the Cowboys in exchange for a 2017 fifth-round draft pick.

I mean Cassel is technically an upgrade over Weeden…

…so, dare I say we might have a Cassel vs. Weeden quarterback controversy on our hands? YES, PLEASE!
