Thomas Eouannou, the attorney for the alleged victim and accuser in the Patrick Kane rape investigation, spoke with the media and had some very troubling charges about things that have developed in the case.

Tim Graham of the Buffalo News (@byTimGraham) has many of the details of that press conference.

The most shocking accusation: that the rape kit evidence bag was tampered with and removed by someone, and it was delivered to the home of the alleged victim’s mother yesterday. This would be a major issue with the prosecution being able to make the case, as any physical evidence would be compromised.

“If you’re looking for a sure-fire way to scuttle a prosecution, you tamper with evidence,” Eoannou said.

The attorney also called this case the worst case of victim bashing he has seen. “Victim bashing is atrocious. It has been absolutely devastating to my client.” He also reiterated that his client wanted a prosecution, and that she was determined to move forward. Last week, Kane came out publicly and protested his innocence, claiming he had done nothing wrong.
