Robert Griffin Jr., the father of Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, has been ordered to spend 10 days in jail after being convicted of reckless driving.

Griffin was ticketed by Virginia police for traveling 115 mph in a 60-mph zone on Aug. 2, according to court documents. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

His lawyer declined to comment on Wednesday after a sentence of 60 days with 50 days suspended was handed down.

Griffin made headlines in 2013 after visiting the Redskins’ locker room after a 27-6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, prompting a strong defense from his son. There was also speculation the elder Griffin was creating a nuisance by meddling in the team’s affairs.
