Former Chiefs Kicker Lawrence Tynes is Going After Alex Smith, Calling Him the Checkdown Master
By Jason Lisk

Lawrence Tynes has seen enough. He embodies the thoughts of plenty of Chiefs fans. Alex Smith is safe, he’s conservative, and he rarely throws downfield. If things don’t go perfectly, the play has little chance. It’s been well over a full season since he threw a touchdown pass to a wide receiver.
Wouldn't be mad if the @chiefs put @ChaseDaniel in. Dude slings it all over the park. I'm done with the check down master.

The guy completed 1 pass to a WR in our 2012 NFC Championship game. Signing Maclin is like getting a Porsche when you live on a gravel road

The Chiefs are 3 for 26 on third down this year. Alex Smith has yet to complete a pass to a wide receiver this game, and has been sacked on 3 of his 14 pass attempts.
