Clay Travis of Outkick the Coverage featured perhaps the most SEC email of all time yesterday from a reader with a great story and video footage to authenticate it.

A Tennessee fan and 10 of his buddies headed down to Gainesville for a bachelor party last weekend. The Volunteers and coach Butch Jones tried their best to ruin the good vibes by losing to Florida in heartbreaking fashion. Undeterred, the fellas rallied for a night of drinking and eventually ended up at a Steak ‘n Shake at 3 a.m. There they encountered several Gators players.

The conversation, as it’s wont to do, turned to arm wrestling.

Then this happened to offensive lineman Nick Buchanan.

Now, arm wrestling is a technique-driven sport and the most muscular of men can be defeated by a smaller opponent with great form. But still. The Gators’ strength and conditioning staff better get to work.

If that wasn’t bad enough, it was at this time that another Volunteers fan not associated with the bachelor party jumped into the mix and defeated defensive lineman Jabari Zuniga.

The full story is definitely worth your time and an ode to the always unpredictable results when college football and drinking are combined. All things considered, this is very positive result from an early-morning physical challenge between heated rivals at a chain restaurant.

Let’s celebrate it.
