The Clippers May Want to Consider Giving Lance Stephenson Back to the Hornets

The NBA preseason tipped off tonight at STAPLES Center, as the Los Angeles Clippers hosted the Denver Nuggets. Usually, anything that happens this time of year — good or bad — you usually just shoo away and say: “Eh, it’s just preseason. Doesn’t count.” However, that rule doesn’t apply tonight — as Clippers fans got their first taste of their newest trade acquisition, Lance Stephenson, who … how do I put this politely? … looked AWFUL, and almost single-handily blew a 20+ point lead to the woeful Nuggets when Doc Rivers put him in the fourth quarter at point guard….

…And not just “he had a bad shooting night” awful, the “Lance Stephenson is going to Lance Stephenson and there is nothing you can do to stop it” variety — which there is absolutely no cure for other than getting him off your team.

Ok that was bad but he learned his lesson and will stop dribbling around for ten seconds and shooting long contested jumpers, right?

" LMAO LANCE STEPHENSON pic.twitter.com/TKnfVRxPLy — Rob Perez (@World_Wide_Wob) October 3, 2015 "

HE EVEN HAD THE AUDACITY TO PUT HIS HANDS UP LOOKING FOR A FOUL CALL!!!!!!

Translation: do not underestimate Lance’s ability to Lance.

And with that, I’d like to formally welcome you and yours to “The Lance Stephenson Experience”! Buckle up Clipper fans, no-one cares that he pulled all of this shit tonight because “it was preseason”, but, when the playoffs come along and he’s out there trying to make his own AND 1 mixtape during a Game 7 … feel free to re-visit this blog when I said: I told you so.
