Rajon Rondo and George Karl Are Already Beefing?

Rajon Rondo had a tumultuous stay in Dallas last season before signing with Sacramento as a free agent. It was not ridiculous to ask at the time of the acquisition whether Rondo would meld with Kings coach George Karl, as both of them have not always been the easiest to deal with. But, one presumed there would at least be a short honeymoon period. Might they already be at odds before the season starts?

In an interview with Cowbell Kingdom, Rondo was asked about his relationship with Karl. “It’s not been going too well,” said Rondo. “We got into a couple of arguments the last few days. Hopefully we continue to talk and get better.”

As Zach Lowe said, this could be something or nothing. It’s unsurprising that Rondo and Karl would have arguments in practice, but it’s noteworthy that the point guard is already speaking about that publicly. If Rondo is already at this point, and Karl’s relationship with DeMarcus Cousins gets re-strained, Sacramento could be looking at yet another really ugly season.
