Mario Williams Kind of Took a Shot at Rex Ryan

The Bills lost again at home, this time a 34-21 defeat at the hands of the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals. Buffalo, after that stirring season-opening win over Andrew Luck, has stumbled twice in recent weeks at home, getting shredded by Eli Manning and now Andy Dalton.

The Buffalo defense was thought to be the team’s strong suit this season, but that hasn’t been the case on the field. When asked about it today, pass rusher Mario Williams had this exchange with the media:

"the usually mild-mannered Williams wasn’t shy about voicing his frustration with Rex Ryan’s defensive scheme that has called for him to drop back in coverage a lot more often than he’s accustomed to. “Playing the call,” as Williams put it, resulted in three Andy Dalton touchdown passes and the second game with more than 30 points allowed at home. Williams, who had 38 sacks in his three seasons in Buffalo prior to Ryan’s arrival, wants to be more aggressive. He has just two sacks this season."

Doubting your new head coach – who is known as a defensive guy – just six games into the season? The Bills (3-3) have to get on a plane and fly across the pond to London for a date with Jacksonville (1-5)  next weekend.
