Glen Rice Jr, who spent some time in the NBA D-League the last few years, as well as with the NBA’s Washington Wizards, was allegedly shot outside of an Atlanta restaurant Sunday night according to multiple reports. A police report claims Rice was shot in the leg and went to the hospital. Police haven’t found the shooter, but have charged Rice with “reckless conduct and possession of marijuana (240.4 Grams)” and found a bag of his with $5,953 in it.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution quoted the police report:

"“There is video footage from the restaurant that shows the altercation on the parking lot, and the male with the red shirt shot at Mr. Glen Rice on the left leg, and the subject left the location as a passenger on a black sedan that was parked on the curve waiting for him. Then Mr. Rice was seen on the video running on Ivan Allen Blvd. side of the building, and he threw a black revolver on a stairwell that was adjacent to the sidewalk.”"

The only oddity in the police report is that Rice Jr. is called a “heavyset male,” which is entirely possible, since he was released by the Wizards in January and could be out of shape. But for much of his college and pro career, he’s been about 6-foot-6, 205 pounds. TMZ is also saying the man that was shot was Glen Rice Jr.

With a father who played in the NBA, and Rice himself being a 2nd round draft pick who made over $1.2 million combined in the last two seasons with the Wizards, what’s he doing embroiled in some crap like this?
