Alex Gordon tied things up for the Kansas City Royals by blasting a solo home run with one out in the ninth inning off New York Mets closer Jeurys Familia. The blast to straightaway center sent the game into extras and got Eric Hosmer off the hook for his crucial error. The first baseman showed his appreciation by begging for a hug.
