The nuanced and dynamic relationship between sports figures and the media has been the subject of countless thinkpieces over the last few years. Great minds have tackled the topic. It’s a difficult interplay to pin down and can only be truly captured by a man with a deep understanding of both athletics and journalism.
Luckily such a man exists. And his name is Weird Al Yankovic.
The comedian expertly broke it all down while looking like a Pete Carroll clone in this Every Press Conference Ever sketch.
It’s busting at the seams with platitudes, cliches, coach-speak and media caricatures. It’d be funnier if didn’t hit so close to home — especially that part about bloggers taking things out of context.
