Greg Hardy signed autographs at a Dallas hotel during Monday Night Football. He was “surrounded” by fans who just couldn’t wait to watch him scribble some cursive on their memorabilia — and to promote Gameday Sports Tours in the process.

One fan, a 38-year-old named Jeremy Smith, had the audacity to bring a Carolina Panthers helmet for Hardy to sign. The oft-troubled defensive end is not too fond of his former team and thus refused to sign the item. After all, a man must have his principles.

Quick-thinking Hardy solved the situation by pulling out a $100 bill, signed his nickname “Kraken” and gave it to Smith.

"“I was a little irritated because I spent $37 on the mini helmet,” Smith said. “But he offset it by throwing down the $100 bill. I was a little surprised. It made me feel better.”"

“That’s for the fans, man,” Hardy said when asked why he pulled out one of his Ben Franklins.

Look at that. Another public relations win for Hardy. The guy certainly knows how to play the game. Look out, J.J. Watt, there’s a new face of the NFL waiting in the wings.
