Clemson's Deshaun Watson Spiked a Ball on Third Down, Possibly Cost Tigers Four Points
By Kyle Koster
Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson spiked the ball on 3rd and 3 in the waning moments of the first half against Florida State, causing the Tigers to settle for a field goal. With 33 seconds remaining and a timeout available, there was no reason to do this.
Replays seemed to vindicate Dabo Swinney from any wrongdoing in the situation.
FSU Twitter enjoyed it.
Watson responded by throwing a long touchdown pass to begin the second half.
