France and England Fans Joined Together to Sing "La Marseillaise" During Wembley Friendly

As a potential terrorist attack at a soccer friendly in Hanover was thwarted, France and England were playing an emotional match of their own in London. Returning to the pitch just four days after a deadly terror attack took place outside of a Paris stadium, the French side was greeted with open arms by their European neighbors.
The support was palpable during the singing of La Marseillais, the French national anthem.
Hearing an opposing country’s anthem belted out with gusto by English fans is a unique moment. We are, of course, living in unique — and tense — times.
