Kwon Alexander, a rookie linebacker out of LSU, is second on the Tampa Bay Bucaneers in tackles this season. On Sunday, it was announced that he was facing a 4-game suspension for violating the league’s performance enhancing drugs policy. Alexander will appeal the suspension and played in Sunday’s Bucs’ win against the Falcons in overtime. Alexander claims he didn’t take anything intentionally, but accepts the blame. Via the Tampa Tribune:

"“It’s very disappointing, and I’m just disappointed in myself because all (our coaches) keep saying, ‘If you’re going to drink something, ask somebody first.’ So I hold myself accountable.’’ A fourth-round draft pick out of LSU who has started all 10 games this year, Alexander thinks the suspension stems from an energy drink he’s used since he was in high school. “I’ve never been in any trouble or anything, so it’s very disappointing,” Alexander said. “I’m definitely going to appeal it, and whatever the (result of) the appeal process is, I’ll come back even stronger.’’"

Stronger, but less caffeinated.
