Oklahoma Center Ty Darlington's Family Really Hates Oklahoma State
Ty Darlington is the senior starting center for the Oklahoma Sooners. His mother was a cheerleader at Oklahoma. His family is apparently Boomer Sooner for life. Ahead of Darlington’s final Bedlam Series game against Oklahoma State, he shared just how deep the anti-OSU sentiment goes in his family.
"I grew up getting taught to hate Oklahoma State. Getting taught to hate their guts. I think my grandpa’s quote was that “they’re subhuman.” So my aunt and uncle, my first year here, we took a bunch of guys up to their house in — for Thanksgiving dinner. They wouldn’t let us eat until we went around the table and everyone gave a reason why they hate OSU. So I’ve been taught for a long time to hate OSU."
Now, it sounds a lot worse when you read it than it sounds when you watch Darlington tell the story while laughing. He then went on to say that he’s friends with players from OSU. I just hope his family doesn’t find out.
