Rams Wide Receiver Stedman Bailey Shot Twice in Head, in "Stable" Condition

Devastating news out of Miami on Tuesday night as St. Louis Rams Wide Receiver Stedman Bailey was”shot twice in the head while sitting in a car with 2 young relatives & his cousin.”
Per NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport and Michael Silver:
"Bailey was shot Miami Gardens, Fla., while sitting in a car with family … someone pulled up and started shooting, per a source informed of the incident. Bailey was hit twice in the head. The driver — his cousin — was hit several times and has life-threatening injuries."
The two elaborated shortly after on Twitter:
A Rams source confirmed to me that Stedman Bailey was involved in shooting incident & suffered a head wound. Not considered life-threatening

Source said Bailey will undergo surgery in the morning. Again, head wound not believed to be life-threatening. Rams gathering more info

While Bailey appears to be “stable”, the driver of the car may not share the same fate.
Stedman Bailey will have surgery tomorrow. The driver was shot many times, shielding the kids from bullets. His wounds are life threatening

“We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening. We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.”
