Luke Walton Looks Like the Best Coach to Never Win a Game
Luke Walton is the best coach to never win a basketball game. Walton, the interim coach of the undefeated Golden State Warriors, has a career win-loss record of 0-0 because of a stupid NBA rule that gives interim coach wins to the actual head coach, no matter where he is during the games. Not that it matters. At 35, Walton is getting all the unofficial credit he needs. And he looks exactly the same as he has for the last 15 years. Just look.
UPDATE: Walton is the NBA Coach of the Month with a 0-0 record.
Here’s Luke Walton and Lute Olson in 2001. Walton played in two Elite Eights and one Final Four. And he looked exactly the same as he does now. He just wears sleeves these days.
Of course, he had to grow up at some point. As soon as he was drinking age, he started hanging out at the Playboy Mansion with Stephen Jackson, Malik Rose and Richard Jefferson. This picture is from 2003.
2004 with Kareem Rush, Nick Cannon, and Terrell Owens. Everyone in this picture remains relevant and successful.
Luke on the beach, wearing a Grateful Dead shirt in 2005. Why he took a senior photo two years after he finished school, I have no idea.
Luke Walton was on The Young & the Restless in 2005. Why he went into coaching instead of acting is beyond me.
You can tell Luke Walton was acting because he’s obviously never had his heart broken. Here he is in 2007 with his future wife, Bre Ladd.
Here’s Luke in 2008 guarding a cornrow’d Carmelo Anthony.
Walton won two rings with the Lakers. Here he is, a future head coach, in 2009, wearing a backwards hat. Obviously he wasn’t thinking about setting an example.
Walton retired in 2013 after one season with the Cavaliers. His only season with a team other than the Lakers.
Walton has been on the Warriors coaching staff since 2014. Here he is after Stephen Curry missed his only three-pointer of the season last week. May his struggles continue to be as epic and his record stay as spotless.
