Rob Gronkowski will miss “multiple” weeks with a knee injury, according to an ESPN report. Earlier Monday it was reported by NFL Network that Gronkowski would only miss a week.

Gronkowski was on the receiving end of a brutal – but legal – hit late against Denver and was carted to the locker room. The Patriots gagged away a 14-point 4th quarter lead and lost in overtime, 30-24.

Here’s the upcoming New England schedule:

vs Philadelphia
@ Houston
vs Tennessee

If Danny Amendola isn’t healthy against the Eagles, Chip Kelly and Philadelphia may catch a huge break. Facing Tom Brady without his four best weapons? Dion Lewis is done for the season, Julian Edelman is out for the rest of the regular season, and now Gronk is down.

The Eagles are 4-7 but still alive in the putrid NFC East. They’re going to be heavy underdogs on the road, but perhaps catching the 10-1 Patriots at the right time.

The Patriots are currently the #1 seed in the AFC, but Cincinnati and Denver are 9-2. Best record gets homefield advantage in the playoffs.
