Rush Propst is one of the most recognizable high school football coaches in the nation. He’s also one of the most fiery. That intensity led to him headbutting a player during a Georgia state playoff game.

Propst greeted kicker Luis Martinez with some head-to-head contact when the player returned to the sidelines during the second quarter. One party was still wearing his helmet. The result was a blood-soaked coach.

Propst called the game, which his Colquitt County team won, 52-31, “dad gum intense.” Seems like a fair characterization.

I can think of no better way to prove a point than self-inflicting a noticeable head injury. Really makes people pay attention to what you’re saying.
