DeSean Jackson Punt Return Fumble Was Unconscionably Dumb [VIDEO]

DeSean Jackson received a punt, made it to about the 25, ran backwards around the near his own goal line, got back to around the 10, and fumbled. It set Dallas up for an easy chip shot field goal, at worst, but they got a Darren McFadden touchdown with 1:14 remaining to go up 16-9. It goes without saying that the entirety of the return this was a profoundly stupid blunder by Jackson.

At press time, Washington has two timeouts left, and the ball past midfield, so they’ve still got a chance to counterpunch, but this play will be on blooper reels for a long time.

UPDATE: And … DeSean Jackson caught a touchdown on the ensuing drive to likely send this suddenly-fascinating game into overtime.

UPDATE II: Nevermind about OT. Dan Bailey hit a 54-yard field goal to but Dallas up 19-16 with 14 seconds remaining.
