Jason Witten Should Reach Lofty Milestone Versus Washington

Jason Witten enters tonight’s Monday Night Football contest with 998 career catches. Amongst tight ends in league history, only Tony Gonzalez has reached 1,000. (He has an astounding 1,325.) If Indeed Witten reaches the milestone this evening, his longtime quarterback and close friend Tony Romo will be a part of the festivities:

Now, it goes without saying that this is the most passing-rich era in NFL history. Offensive innovations which have utilized the tight end are both a byproduct and driving force of that. Witten’s had a great prime and longevity. Though he’s likely to face obstacles, Witten’s Hall of Fame eventual candidacy is a more interesting conversation than you may realize off the top of your head.
