High School Ref Accidentally Makes Tackle, Causes Fumble

Darien’s (Conn.) Hudson Hamill caught a screen pass and had plenty of open field ahead of him during a Connecticut state semifinal game. Well, a wide-open field in the sense that no defenders were close. An official trying to vacate the area proved to be problematic.
The two collided with Hamill fumbling the football to create an untimely turnover but evergreen blooper.
All parties involved can laugh at their misfortune as Hamill’s team cruised to a 49-7 win over Southington.
