Al Jefferson, the Charlotte Hornets center, has been suspended five games for violating the NBA’s anti-drug program. No word yet on whether his offense was performance enhancing or recreational, but the length would suggest one more than the other. Jefferson is third on the Hornets in points and blocks. Charlotte is currently in the 5-seed in the Eastern Conference and already adjusting to life without Big Al who has a strained calf. He will apparently have to get healthy before he can officially serve his suspension.
