The Texas A&M Aggies has announced that quarterback Kyle Allen will be transferring away from the program.

Allen, a former five-star recruit, appeared in 10 games for the Aggies during the 2015 season, completing 56.5 percent of his passes (7.8 yards/att) for 2210 yards and a 17-7 TD INT ratio. Allen had been splitting time with freshman, and fellow five-star recruit Kyler Murray.

The move is not a total surprise. It was expected either Allen or Murray would transfer eventually. There is also substantial uncertainty with Texas A&M’s offense and what will happen with Jake Spavital.

Allen would have been in the mix for the starting job next year. There should be a substantial market for his services. Texas A&M fans will hope Kyler Murray does not get hurt playing baseball.

UPDATE: Allen spoke about his transfer to Bruce Feldman. He has been granted a full release. He is looking for a school with an outgoing senior in 2016 and raised Oklahoma as a possibility.
