Pete Rose: "To be honest with you I should actually be the Commissioner of Baseball"

Pete Rose held a press conference at his Las Vegas restaurant to react to Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred’s decision to deny his reinstatement. It was predictably entertaining.

The all-time hit leader wasted no time providing the quote of the day, suggesting that he should not only be welcomed back into Major League Baseball, but that he should be put in charge.

“To be honest with you, I should actually be the Commissioner of Baseball the way I talk about the game of baseball,” he said.

Oh yeah. That’s an idea that can’t miss.

It seems like Rose was being facetious but attempting to understand the inner workings of Rose’s mind is a fool’s errand.
