ESPN SportsCenter has Resorted to Bad Crying Michael Jordan + Star Wars Photoshops

ESPN’s SportsCenter is fully on board with promoting “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” from ESPN’s parent company Disney. We’ve already seen them figure out which Star Wars characters would make up the ideal Cricket lineup (as well as other sports). I guess it’s less harmful than when they go full press on something like Ray Lewis’ book.

But if you were wondering if the dumb Crying Michael Jordan thing had run its course, well, here you go. This just about makes me want to not watch the movie. Nah, just kidding. I have my tickets for tonight already.

I guess I’ll give them credit for at least getting Luke Skywalker in the moments after he has had his hand cut off and finds out Darth Vader is his father in a Crying Michael Jordan moment. That one is the #1 opportunity. If I were in charge of shoe-horning in Star Wars references and ruining the Crying Michael Jordan meme, I would have probably gone with Obi-Wan sadly yelling at Anakin that he was the chosen one, Count Dooku realizing that Darth Sidious wants Anakin to kill him, and Porkins or Red Leader meeting their demise.
