Kevin Durant Hit a Dr. J Reverse Layup

Kevin Durant scored 25 in the Thunders’ loss to Cleveland on Thursday. The most memorable basket came on this up-and-under reverse layup that was awfully Dr. J-esque. This isn’t the first time Durant has pulled off a spectacular reverse layup – and it probably isn’t even the most spectacular spectacular reverse layup – but this one most closely resembled Julius Erving’s.

For some reason, Dr. J’s looks much more impressive and difficult. Is it because we’ve only ever seen this play in slow motion? Dave Chappelle proved that everything looks better in slow motion. Maybe at full speed this Dr. J layup is just another bucket. We may never know. Full speed footage of this and The Catch were destroyed years ago.
