The Chargers’ relationship with Eric Weddle appears to be coming to an end, as acrimoniously as the organization’s relationship with the community in San Diego. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the team fined Eric Weddle $10,000 last Tuesday, for staying out at halftime to watch his daughter perform in a halftime show in what is likely the last home game in San Diego.

According to the story, Weddle did not tell the team before the game that he wanted to stay on the field. The Chargers lead 23-0 over Miami at halftime. Weddell is a free agent after the season, and was just placed on injured reserve. The team also reportedly told him that it didn’t have room for him to travel to the final regular season game in Denver this week. Needless to say, Eric Weddle will be playing in a different place next year.
