Philadelphia Eagles Fire Chip Kelly

The Philadelphia Eagles have released Chip Kelly, the team announced on its website. Pat Shurmur will be the interim coach for Sunday’s season finale.
The Eagles are 6-9 this year after consecutive 10-6 campaigns. Kelly’s job security has been tenuous for some time and his name brought up in connection with many high-profile openings.
A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday.
“We appreciate all the contributions that Chip Kelly made and wish him every success going forward,” team CEO Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement.
