“Making a Murderer” is a documentary series on Netflix and if you haven’t watched it yet, you should. The highly addictive true crime series is a binge-watch worthy spiritual sequel to Serial’s first season. While people online – specifically on Reddit – are trying to get to the bottom of the case in a way that the legal system couldn’t or wouldn’t, it’s important to remember that there are real people lives involved in this. In fact, there’s even a direct connection between “Making a Murderer” and the sports world.

Mike Halbach, the brother of murder victim Teresa Halbach, is an employee of the Green Bay Packers. Halbach has been with the Packers since starting as an intern in 2004. His sister was killed in 2005. Mike Halbach appears to have been the public face and voice of Teresa’s family throughout the trial and is prominently featured throughout the series. Mike Halbach is the Packers “Director of Football Technology.”
