Dirk Nowitzki never possessed spectacular hops and time has only diminished what leaping ability was once present. Despite this, he’s managed to have a career worthy of Hall of Fame consideration.
The Dallas Mavericks veteran failed at a pointless dunk attempt during last night’s dramatic victory over the Sacramento Kings but was able to laugh it off because he’s 37-years-old and secure with himself as a human being.

The blooper didn’t impact the final score – Dallas won, 117-116 in double OT on a Deron Williams 3-pointer – but may hurt Nowitzki in his season-long dunk contest with fellow low-flyer Zaza Pachulia — which is really the most riveting battle going.
