D’Angelo Russell scored a career-high 27 points on 11 of 16 shooting to go along with 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in a Lakers loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday. The Lakers were actually winning, 113-112, when Russell rolled his ankle and left the game late in the 4th quarter. Russell felt so good about how he played that after the game he said that the Kings “got lucky.”

He had a point. The Lakers were down TWENTY (24 – 4) when Russell first checked in just over five minutes into the game.

Russell also told the media that the world hadn’t seen anything yet. D’Angelo Russell certainly is confident when you let him talk. Or play.
