Tom Coughlin and the New York Giants parted ways earlier this week. At the time the 69-year-old left door open for his potential return to coaching. And it appears he’s wasting no time in exploring other opportunities.

The Giants expect Coughlin to meet with the Philadelphia Eagles to replace Chip Kelly, according to a report from Fox Sports. This comes on the heels of a Fox New York report that the Eagles had requested position from their division rivals to speak to Coughlin. Permission is required because there was still time remaining on the two-time Super Bowl winner’s contract.

The Eagles fired Chip Kelly on Dec. 29 after nearly three seasons with the franchise. His maverick ways are a stark contrast to those of Coughlin.

It’s tough to imagine the range of emotions Giants fans would have to confront if they had to watch their former leader operate down I-95 twice a year. Would ramp up an already tasty rivalry.
