Blue Mountain State ran on SpikeTV from 2010 to 2011. It apparently had 3 seasons, 39 episodes and some form of popularity because now there’s a movie. This is the cinematic equivalent of the story about the woman who mistakenly bought a meal at McDonald’s for a guy who she thought was homeless, but he was just eating ketchup while he waited for his meal and then a newspaper wrote a story about it.

The details of both stories are clear, I just don’t know why they exist. I remember Blue Mountain State existing in the pre-Bar Rescue era at Spike. I might have watched an episode? I might have written about watching an episode or posted the show’s trailer but that was 4 site redesigns ago so there’s no proof that actually happened.

Still, my recollection obviously means nothing. A Kickstarter campaign to make this movie raised $1.9 million dollars in 2014. The trailer features former NFL linebacker and travel show host, Dhani Jones.
