MLS Player Hospitalized with a Stab Wound After Incident with Miss Washington
By Kyle Koster
Marco Pappa was found by Seattle police with a stab wound to the abdomen last month. Miss Washington USA, Stormy Keffeler, was with him. The two offered different accounts of what happened leading up to the incident, which was severe enough to hospitalize Pappa, who at the time was a member of the Seattle Sounders. Both parties have altered their narratives over time, according to KING 5.
No arrests have been made and the police are still investigating.
Keffeler, a former member of the LFL’s Seattle Mist, was already in danger of losing her crown as a result of an April drunk-driving arrest. Pappa was suspended by Major League Soccer after his own DUI arrest in July. He was recently traded to the Colorado Rapids.
Keffler was previously a member of the LFL’s Seattle Mist.
There is no shortage of pressing questions surrounding this story but the most important one is clearly “will Keffeler keep her title?”
"Maureen Francisco, Co-Executive Producer of Northwest Productions, works with Miss Washington USA and was there for Keffeler’s crowning moment in October, but she did not know about the DUI arrest that happened months earlier. “I was not aware of this until somebody sent an email last week,” said Francisco. “I know she is very remorseful. At this moment people want to know, will she remain Miss Washington USA or will there be a new Miss Washington USA.” Repeated calls to Stormy Keffeler were not returned. A decision about whether she will be able to keep her crown should come soon, according to Francisco."
