Monmouth and Iona Push, Shove, and Slap During Postgame Handshake Line

Monmouth beat Iona on Friday night, 110-102. After the game, during the handshake line, some pushing and shoving broke out between the teams. One guy from Iona even slapped an opponent. The attention that Monmouth has received this season because of their choreographed bench celebrations could be putting other teams on edge. Here’s what Iona coach Tim Cluess had to say earlier this week about the bench.

Iona and Monmouth are currently the top two teams in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The teams will meet again at Monmouth on February 19th. Then perhaps again in the MAAC tournament with an NCAA tournament birth on the line.
