CM Punk is totally close to making his UFC debut, you guys. Pretty exciting stuff. Phil Brooks (Punk’s real name) told The Sun that he had improved 1000% since he had started training mixed martial arts. That sounds pretty scary. And impressive considering he’s 37-years old. Via The Sun:

"“Because I get better every day. And that’s what really kinda excites me about this whole thing – I know how much I’ve grown since the last time I talked to you. “I know how much I’ve improved since the first time I stepped foot in Duke’s gym. “And looking at June or July as a fight date I get kinda (excited) thinking how much better I’m gonna be from now until then. I get better every day.”"

So mark June or July on your calendars everyone. A mere 18 or 19 months after the UFC introduced the former WWE star. CM Punk might actually make his professional mixed martial arts debut and there’s even a possible name – Mickey Gall.

Gall, who turns 24 on Friday, will make his UFC debut at UFC 196 on February 6th. He has a 1-0 career record and called out CM Punk with Dana White cageside at his MMA debut. So now if Gall wins on Super Bowl Saturday, he gets to fight Punk this summer at an undisclosed event on an undisclosed date. And if he doesn’t, who knows!?
