Donald Trump Rooting for Broncos in Super Bowl Because Peyton Manning is "a Very Good Guy"

I can’t imagine a single person waiting to see who Donald Trump is endorsing in Super Bowl 50 before selecting their own rooting allegiances but stranger things have happened this election cycle.

The Republican frontrunner, like everyone else, is anticipating a great matchup between two great single-callers. Great!

“Well, your Carolina team is sort of a hot team,” he told Face the Nation’s John Dickerson. “And the quarterback is doing great.”

“I very much have always liked Peyton Manning. He is a very good guy. I know him. And he is a very, very good guy. So, I have to go with the person I know and I like. I like the other team. I think the other team looks fantastic. Probably, they would be favored by something. But I will stick with Peyton, because he is a very good guy.”

Expect dozens of thinkpieces today addressing why Trump declined to mention Cam Newton by name. What does it mean for America?

Trump previously picked friend Tom Brady and the New England Patriots to repeat as Super Bowl champions. Between missing on that projection and not knowing the current betting line, it’s almost as if he has more pressing matters at hand.
