Jamie Vardy is the definition of “on fire” right now. The Leicester City forward continued his insane run of play this season by scoring two goals on Tuesday against Liverpool.

The first was a sensational strike in the 60th minute to give Barclays Premier League-leading Leicester a 1-0 lead, and it is absolutely worth reliving.

Vardy has gone from a guy who wasn’t even on the soccer world’s radar, to one of the most dangerous strikers in the world seemingly overnight. In his first premier league season in 2014-15, he had just five goals. In his first two seasons with Leicester (in England’s Championship division) he combined to score 20 goals in 63 matches. This year alone he has 18 in appearances. He also opened the season by scoring in a Premier League-record 11 consecutive games.

Vardy’s play is one of the main reasons Leicester City has shocked the soccer world and jumped to the top of the Primer League table.

It’s absolutely remarkable that a 29-year-old guy has all of a sudden become the toast of the world’s top league. Given that I’m used to American sports, I’ll just assume he was on some kind of super-HGH this offseason.
