Bayley Cheering Up Finn Balor Was Delightful

Finn Balor, the champion of WWE’s developmental organization NXT, busted up his ankle on Friday, continuing a snake-bitten trend for the WWE at-large, which has seen an inordinate percentage of its most compelling performers suffering injuries during the most important time of the year.

Bayley, the NXT women’s champion and quintessential babyface, came out at a house show in Indianapolis last night to cheer Balor up by mimicking his entrance as the crowd went wild (the best part starts shortly after the 6-minute mark). As I’ve written multiple times now, the rapport that NXT is building with its fans is sustainable in and of itself, and that, along with better storytelling and less over-exposure, has made its product much more enjoyable to watch now than the main roster.
