Detroit Pistons Legends Congregate to Retire Chauncey Billups' Jersey
By Rob Perez
Chauncey Billups had his Detroit Pistons jersey retired Wednesday evening at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
The ceremony started off with an awesome tribute video to the Piston legend:
" MUST WATCH: Here’s the Chauncey tribute video we showed at halftime! #MrBigShothttps://t.co/xvjn0JXAgv — Detroit Pistons (@DetroitPistons) February 11, 2016 "
Only a couple of weeks after the Pistons did the same for big man Ben Wallace, the floor general of the dominant/Champion Detroit teams of the 2000’s got his moment of basketball immortality.

During his eight-year career with the Pistons, the 2004 NBA Finals MVP averaged a meager
- 16.5 Points
- 6.2 Assists
- 3.2 Rebounds
per game — however, as we all know: it was never the statistics that made Chauncey great. It was uncanny ability to get buckets with the game on the line in the most dramatic of spots, donning him the nickname “Mr. Big Shot”.
P.S. The promotional giveaway item for the fans = straight fire. Need one of these and needed it yesterday.
