Should This Incredible Full-Court Buzzer-Beater Have Counted?

Jacob Reimold’s full-court heave found the bottom of the net as Reynolds (Pa.) stunned Wilm, 68-66. It was a heck of a shot and led to chaos as Wilm slowly realized the apparent game-winner they’d knocked down seconds earlier had been bested.

Far be it for us to take anything away from a high school kid making the play of his life but it appears the shot shouldn’t have counted.

The audio quality isn’t the greatest but it seems the buzzer didn’t sound for a full second after time actually expired, which, if true, is problematic.
