Tim Duncan vs Kobe Bryant Graphic Shows Duncan's Had a Better Career

This Tim Duncan vs. Kobe Bryant graphic is floating around Reddit. It’s pretty tremendous (and reminds me of Michael Jordan vs LeBron at 30). I wish whoever posted it had stripped away the logos in the background, so you could be in the dark about which resume is which.

Both have won five titles. Duncan has the edge in Finals MVPs (3-2) and league MVP (2-1). Kobe’s got the advantage in All-Star game MVP awards 4-1, but that game has never been about big men.

As good as a defender as Kobe is (9x All-NBA 1st team defense), Duncan is right there with him (8x first team).

Both are Hall of Fame locks. Kobe sold more sneakers and scored 81 points one night, and Duncan is going to turn 40 in April and try to win another title.

They played different positions. Kobe’s retiring at the end of this season; who knows if Duncan will or not.

I think Duncan will be a Top 10 player all-time when his career is over, but I think Kobe will just be squeezed out and fall in the 11-13 range.
