Grayson Allen isn’t exactly the most popular player in the country. The Duke guard garners strong reactions from opponents and opposing fans and most of those reactions are seriously negative.

On Saturday, Allen was having a great game against Louisville and being his usual, pesky self when he took a vicious elbow to the grill from Jaylen Johnson.

Johnson and Allen were locked in a scrum for the ball on the floor and Allen kept scrapping for it after the whistle. In the midst of that, Johnson’s elbow connected with Allen’s face in a moment that was probably cathartic for many Duke haters.

Johnson was assessed a technical foul but not ejected, since it’s really hard to determine intent on that replay. If you look closely you can see Allen actually elbows Johnson first, so it may have been a response.

Let’s remember, Allen has been accused of being a dirty player numerous times, most recently when he intentionally tripped Raymond Spalding the last time Louisville and Duke played.

Duke eventually lost this one 71-64 and Allen earned himself a technical foul when he fouled out on a questionable charging call.
