Kyrie Irving Was Bitten by Bed Bugs at "Haunted" Hotel

Kyrie Irving played just nine minutes in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ victory over Oklahoma City Sunday due to flu-like symptoms. Or so the team said. The truth is far more interesting.

Irving admitted that he was actually suffering from the effects of a run-in with bed bugs.

“I feel alright,” the guard said after scoring 30 points in Monday night’s loss to Detroit. “Our team said I was out with flu-like symptoms. It was honestly from the bed bugs from the frickin Hilton that we stayed at. As you can see I got it at the top of my head, it’s just like bed bugs and I didn’t get any sleep. We came into the game, then I was freaked out, then I started feeling nauseous so it was just a whole bunch of BS honestly.”

Irving said he was feeling much better after returning to Cleveland so that’s what’s important.

Actually, no it’s not. What’s important is that he presumably rode on the team plane and tossed his game-worn laundry into the mix. It might be in the Cavaliers’ best interest to burn everything and ask questions later.

A little bed bug problem is actually quite minor if you believe in the paranormal nature of the Skirvin Hilton, where the Cavs stayed while in Oklahoma City. Things could have been much, much worse. We’re talking ghost bed bugs or undead fleas.

Important to always look on the bright side.
