Colin Kaepernick Wants to Be Traded?

Colin Kaepernick has let the 49ers know that he’d like to relocate, according to Rand Getlin of NFL Media. The timing of this news is interesting. Yesterday, 49ers GM Trent Baalke said he “absolutely” expects Kaepernick on the team’s roster when the quarterback is due a big bonus on April 1st, and today Chip Kelly expressed similar sentiments.

Kaepernick was a target of a bevy of leaks from the 49ers organization after the team’s season went up in flames and he landed on IR, so it’s not all that surprising that he would want a fresh start. Kaepernick would seem to fit in Chip Kelly’s offense, so it remains to be seen whether the organization, which has him under contract, would bow to his apparent wishes to play elsewhere. Maybe if the price is right?
